Michael Steiner, ASID

Michael Steiner, ASIDMichael is a 1985 graduate of East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in environmental/interior design and a minor in graphic design. Prior to establishing Steiner Design Interiors, Michael was a partner in Steiner + Schelfe Designs and worked for several prominent designers in the NC area and New York City. He has also expanded his talents by freelancing as a photo stylist, with his work being published in numerous national design magazines, and as a set designer for several television series and movies, including a season at Matlock.

Michael is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), and is an active member of the Carolinas Chapter of ASID. Michael has held positions within CCASID as a member of the nominating committee, advocacy council, strategic planning committee, and as decoration chair for Design Celebration, chair of the Northeast Association, and liason for the 2005 ASID Show House in Raleigh. Michael is also a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Society.

Pastimes include traveling to continue the education process by experiencing both old and new places for design inspiration and the eternal quest for unique treasures to be found at flea markets, auctions, and antique shops.
